World Glaucoma Week being held on March 11-17 2018. World Glaucoma Week is a joint initiative between the World Glaucoma Association and the World Glaucoma Patient Association. BiCOM Inc., Team with Diaton tonometer a glaucoma detection technology through the eyelid supports the initiatives through awareness and screening events.
The glaucomas cause progressive damage to the vision; they do so without warning till later in the disease process and while treatment is effective in arresting the disease, it cannot reverse damage already present. The earlier the diagnosis, the less damage done and the more vision there is to save.
Throughout the year BiCOM Inc., and Diaton tonometer Team hold free screening events in conjunction with Department of Transportation (DOT), Lions Clubs International, Health Action Groups, Corporate health fairs, assists in remote screening missions as well as independent screening events at churches, synagogues and shelters.
Handheld Diaton Tonometer is ideal for mass screening because it is quick, painless and non-invasive procedure. The measurement is taken Through-the-Eyelid with no corneal contact, requiring no anesthesia and having no risk of infecting the eye.
For the 10th consecutive World Glaucoma Week (and World Glaucoma Day), BiCOM Inc will be holding various screening awareness events throughout New York as well as internationally throughout its network of Diaton Tonometer distributors and cooperating partners.
